During his 20 years at game studio Harmonix Music Systems, Jeff Allen has contributed sound, music and design to many critically acclaimed titles. In the role of Senior Audio Designer he designs, implements and creates content for interactive and generative systems that unlock musical potential in players. Developing for a wide variety of gaming platforms, Jeff creates polished impactful game mixes for a variety of surround formats, from 7.1 to VR spatial audio.

He has been active as a musician in Boston since 2003 and has helped bring a unique and authentic style to ground-breaking series such as Guitar Hero, Rock Band, and Fantasia: Music Evolved. Jeff is currently acting as Senior Audio Designer for Epic Games on Fortnite Creative’s Patchwork team, which has released a suite of modular music devices that allow creators to integrate generative music and gameplay with unprecedented ease.

Jeff shares his experience in talks and panels in various venues in the Boston area: GDC, Berklee School of Music, Northeastern University and Boys And Girls Clubs.

When not working on games, Jeff explores sonic boundaries in the electronic realm under the moniker ASMS and drums with his band Arctic Horror.
